I just finished reading the 2001 edition of this book (pictured at left is 2005 edition), and the new subtitle is much more accurate than the older one that referenced faith-based organizations. Because it is about so much more
—a social justice movement based on spiritual values to care for “the least of these.” I really appreciated the personal stories of action around the world. Who doesn’t Jim know?!
One of the greatest strengths of this book is the chapter-by-chapter incremental progression from personal discovery to a worldwide movement. Chapter titles include Get out of the House More Often, Use Your gift, Listen to Those Closest to the Problem, Get to the Heart of the Matter, Find New Allies and Search for Common Ground, Be a Peacemaker, and Change the Wind.
I think I need to read it again.
You want to change the world? You want to discover how to prepare yourself for the movement? Read on.
