"Follow justice and justice alone, so that you may live and possess the land the LORD your God is giving you." Deuteronomy 16:20
God's recipe for a quality nation was based on one thing--justice. He didn't tell them to build a strong military, excellent schools, a representative form of government, or even a free market. God said possessing the land as a nation would depend on their ability to be a just people.
Even a bumper sticker got it right: "If you want peace, work for justice."
What ways can I work for justice today? There's an election coming. Ask people (politicians and voters) questions about justice, about rights for people who need a voice. This will get the attention off of insignificant issues and back onto issues that matter. No one has all the answers, but we can keep asking questions.
Follow justice, and justice alone.
