I will try to post a new Justice Bible Verse every Sunday (http://www.biblegateway.com/). Here we go:
Learn to do right!
Seek justice,
encourage the oppressed.
Defend the cause of the fatherless,
plead the case of the widow.
(Isaiah 1:17)
Justice is something to be sought. For many of us, injustice is not readily obvious, except possibly when we've been wronged. We must seek for justice; hunt for it; listen for the cry; work for it. Who is oppressed? If I don't know anyone oppressed, then is it a perfect world, or am I just not seeing what is happening? Are the fatherless and widows still in need? What other defenseless groups of people need my voice and support?
