When I was in Ghana a number of years ago, I spent some time in a Liberian refugee camp. I can honestly say that it put me to shame. Why? They were happier people than me and my selfish culture. Not to EVER underminbe their situation and relieve us from responsibility, but I've learned that western culture has MUCH to learn about life from African culture (even in the midst of extreme hardship)

I have a lot to learn. Last weekend I started reading The Irresistible Revolution by Shane Claiborne. Heavy & light/lite at the same time. I have a lot to learn, but I need to live more fully what I already know.
